Our Batterer Intervention or DV classes (often called BIP or domestic assault classes) are taken in a group setting weekly. Our flexible hours and late evening schedules make it possible for most men to attend a class at a specific time each week at our convenient location.
Depending on your unique situation, you might have to take an 8 hour Anger management class or a Domestic Violence Program for Batterers requiring many more sessions. What is Domestic Violence Who is Considered a Batterer?
Domestic Violence is the repeated abusive behavior by one person in a relationship to control another. It can mean physical aggression as well harassment, stalking, domineering, intimidation, emotional abuse, and economic deprivation.
An individual does not necessarily need to be physically violent to be considered an abuser but can be someone who deprives the partner financially, purposely isolates the partner from friends and family, or uses putdowns and name-calling for intimidation purposes. It also describes an intimate partner who won’t give you personal freedom. They follow you places against your will.
